As the name suggests, it is an Internet marketing model in which you pay for a relevant keyword when a targeted visitor clicks on a sponsored search engine listings or an advertisement on somebody else website.
The best example can be seen when you visit a search engine and type in the keyword you are searching. The result set includes links on the top and the right side of the screen under the heading of sponsored links.
The best method for visitors to search for information on the internet is search engine and about 80% of traffic is generated by this. Typically, if we look at Google, within 20 results on the whole page, 10 are sponsored.
The 10 links on the left are called organic listings and it is very difficult to rank for keywords in this section as the website numbers are ever increasing and there is a lot of competition. The 3 links on the top and 7-15 links on the right are PPC adverts.
